A série é baseada nas personagens da vida real de Caryl Kristensen e Marilyn Kentz (também conhecido como The Mommies ) como vizinhos suburbanos e suas famílias em Petaluma, Califórnia . Os episódios se concentrariam em como eles lidarão com tudo, desde pais até questões modernas. Além de estrelar a série, a dupla também atuou como co-produtores e co-autores.
