Jesus, os arcos não fecham. 6º episódio e ainda tem personagem novo sendo apresentado o tempo inteiro, a história não evolui. não dá pra viver só de 10 minutos finais incríveis, @hbo. amiga, assim não dá pra te defender :((((

Apesar de bons momentos (principalmente nos últimos 10 minutos finais dos EPs) e grande atuação da Rachel McAdams, a temporada foi pra lá de mediana.

"The problem with season 2 isn't characters or narrative (Yes they're not Cohle, but who is?). The crimes don't seem important, the clues are ridiculously hidden and the mystery is non-existent. Why should I care that Caspere is dead? I don't know him. Why should I care that someone is double crossing Frank? I don't like him. Why should I care that Woodrugh has been shot? He wasn't exactly close to finding out anything that I vaguely even care about."

Outra análise bem precisa que eu vi por aí:

1) Badly written characters. The four main characters were 4 little McConaughey's, constantly brooding and looking like they were pooping. If you want their interactions to work, you need some contrast between them like in Season 1. But I saw no contrast between the three detectives, they just had personal troubles. But the way, they all had the same kind of troubles - sexual. Taylor Kitsch's character was the most stereotyped one, a closeted gay cop with a cover-up girlfriend. Who has a cover-up girlfriend in 2015? I hoped there was some backstory to him, but nope. He's just gay, and then they killed him. mmkay.

2) Some terrible lines. "These contracts...signatures all over them." Really? There are SIGNATURES? Man, this show is crazy.

3) No comedic relief. I'm not asking for a black comedy, but you need some comedic relief even in a dark, wannabe-noir thing like this. There was some in Season 1, courtesy of Woody Harrelson. Nothing here. Pizzolatto was trying to pull something extremely bleak, and he failed miserably.

4) Speaking of extremely bleak, the ending. Ray Velcoro's moronic ending (dies like a moron, failes to send last message to his son, is accused of murder he didn't commit, is revealed to be his son's real father) serves no purpose to the story or the character's development. It's just depressing. I like a sad ending, but it has to be consistent with the rest of the story and provide some kind of relief. That was just supposed to shock the audience.
As indieWIRE pointed out in an earlier article today, the ending makes no sense. Is it a murder story or a character study? In the end, it's neither. Ray's and Frank's deaths weren't the culmination of a personal improvement. They didn't die like heroes or protecting someone else. They were just killed off.

5) Comically evil people. The mayor's son kills his father and then is elected mayor? I know corruption exists, but isn't this, like, a little unrealistic?

6) Directing and cinematography are dull and uninspiring. Fukunaga didn't direct this season, Pizzolatto wanted to do all by himself and this is the result. He even put a Fukunaga lookalike in one episode to make fun of him.

7) Frank's club, "Lux Infinitum". Lux is feminine, it's Lux Infinita. Know your Latin.

Como assim esse episódio tá com nota menor que 9 e tem gente que achou chato? Será que viram o mesmo ep que eu? Aprendemos MUITA coisa nesse S03E07.

- Essa Isabel Hoyt, que aparentemente perdeu o marido e a filha num acidente de carro, ficou meio louca;
- Ela e o motorista/faz tudo, Mr. June, provavelmente viram Julie pela cidade. Julie provavelmente parece com a filha morta da Isabel;
- Isabel e Mr. June provavelmente são as pessoas que foram identificadas como o casal inter-racial que Wayne e Roland estavam procurando. Eles podem ser os fantasmas do Halloween;
- Eles sequestraram Julie (mas ainda não dá para saber pq mataram o Will);
- Eles levaram a Julie pro Pink Room;
- Provavelmente eles queriam transformar a Julie na filha morta da Isabel, mas isso não explica a rede de pedofilia envolvida no caso;
- Seria o promotor um dos pedófilos que frequentava o Pink Room? Quando a Julie adulta liga para a delegacia, ela se refere ao "homem na TV falando que é meu pai". Tecnicamente, o Tom não estava sozinho na coletiva de imprensa. Ela poderia estar se referindo ao promotor do caso, o que explica a vontade dele de encerrar o caso;
- Harris James provavelmente matou a Lucy, o Tom e também o Dan, primo da Lucy;
- Agora que sabemos que o Harris foi assassinado pelo Wayne e pelo Roland, fica claro que ele é o homem de terno que aparece junto com os vietcongs nas alucinações do Wayne.
